Meet
Dr. Heba Rashed

board-certified pediatric dentist

Dr. Heba Rashed is the founding dentist of Petite Smiles. She is known for her calm nature and her ability to connect with and relate to both children and parents.

Dr. Rashed grew up in Lorton and attended South County High School, go Stallions! During this time, she began shadowing local dentists and exploring the field of dentistry. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in global and community health at George Mason University while working part-time as a dental assistant.

She then went to dental school at the Virginia Commonwealth University where she found her passion of treating children. She went on to pursue her specialty training with a residency in pediatrics at the University of Maryland where she cared for children from infancy to adolescence and those with special health care needs. Dr. Rashed’s interests include minimally invasive dentistry for children. Dr. Rashed decided to start her own practice in her hometown of Lorton where she could serve her community in the way she knows best. Dr. Rashed cares for her patients as if they were her own and wanted to create a space that her own kids would love. She designed her practice to cater to everyone from toddlers to teens and even their parents! She’s handpicked every detail in her office to provide your child with a fun, safe, and personalized experience in a modern and state-of-the-art environment. Dr. Rashed is committed to upholding the highest standard of care while fostering a positive dental experience and building a lifetime of good oral habits.

Meet
Dr. Omar El-Sayed

board-eligible pediatric dentist

Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Dr. Omar El-Sayed earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from George Mason University and an Executive Degree in Financial Planning from Georgetown University. With a desire to pursue higher education in healthcare, he then went on to obtain a Post-Baccalaureate in Health Sciences from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he cultivated a passion for dentistry. In 2022, Dr. Omar earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry. Afterwards, he completed a 2-year residency program at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Wilmington, Delaware, where he earned a Pediatric Dentistry Certificate.

Dr. Omar’s devotion to caring and helping others is evident as he was honored with the Dean’s Award for Community Service from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, which required more than 120 hours of community service.

Dr. Omar chose pediatric dentistry because he enjoys being there for a child as they develop and grow. He understands the importance of being flexible, as each young patient’s needs are varying and unique. He finds that working with children is both a challenge and a privilege, as he looks forward to exploring their curiosity about oral health and setting them up for success into adulthood.

Dr. Omar’s goal is to get children excited about coming to the dentist and making each visit a positive experience. As a father, you can expect Dr. Omar to utilize a gentle, yet fun and caring approach that will make your little ones excited about visiting the dental office.

Outside of the dental office, Dr. Omar enjoys staying active and spending time with his wife and two young kids.
